Worship Team

Worship is more than the songs we sing

Scripture tells us that worship is a response to who God is (1Chronicles 16:28-29). When we see who God is and respond appropriately, that’s worship! Singing together on Sunday morning is just one of the ways we can respond to God’s goodness and glory. Ultimately, worship is when we live our lives fully submitted to God. Romans 12:1 says “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” To present our bodies as a living sacrifice means that we live our entire lives as an act of worship to God.

Because of this, the worship team’s goal is not just to lead FBU in songs of praise, but also to lead FBU toward holy living and a rich knowledge of who God is.

Why do we sing the songs that we sing?

As followers of Jesus, we should never do anything without reason. And we should never find reason for doing things outside of Jesus. Here you will find a brief explanation of why we sing some songs and not others.

What does it mean to be a member of the worship team?

Being a member of the worship team means more than standing on stage and singing in front of the church. Here you will find the expectations for members of the team and what it means to join this ministry.

I am interested in joining the worship team

The body of Christ is made up of many members with many gifts. We want to make it as easy as possible for our family to worship by using their gifts. Click the link below to fill out an information form and let us know you are interested in serving with us on the worship team.
